Custom-Tomahawk - Spike Tomahawk.
This is a brand new, original, historically influenced, hand made tomahawk that I forged in my blacksmith shop, The North River Forge. I specialize in hand forged reproductions of the 18th and 19th centuries. Each piece is unique.
Steel: : 1018 steel head with a welded cutting edge and spike of 1084 high carbon steel using traditional 18th. century blacksmithing methods.
Dimensions: Head overall 8 1/2" - Cutting edge 2 1/2" wide.
Haft: Ash, 18" long. Tear drop shape. Decorated with a partial rawhide wrap and brass tacks.
Finish: Aged finish, period correct.
Sheath: Veg-tan leather with a rawhide wrap.
Features: Beautiful file work on the front and sides of the blade.
This hawk is stamped with my makers mark NR and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Great for re-enactors or collectors who crave tradition. Hand crafted in the traditions of long ago. It is a reminder of an era past. A very nice reproduction spike-hawk that will take and keep a good edge. It has never been carried or used. Functional as well as beautiful. A classic 18th century design. Very Sharp!
